Cross-Agency Approaches to Substance Use Disorder Prevention and Treatment: National Recommendations

ASTHOReport_Cross-Agency-Leaders_National-Recommendations-thumbnail.jpgStates across the country are aligning policies, funding, staffing, and data across agencies to more effectively an efficiently utilize resources to meet the needs of people living with or at risk of developing substance use disorder (SUD). In 2018, ASTHO and the National Academy for State Health Policy convened a group of Medicaid and public health leaders to showcase strategies they have pursued to work more effectively across agencies, as well as develop recommendations for other interested states. This report highlights recommendations for structuring and advancing cross-agency approaches to SUD prevention and treatment.
