ASTHO and the Satcher Health Leadership Institute (SHLI) at Morehouse School of Medicine, with support from CDC-CSTLTS, invites qualified professionals to apply to Cohort 3 of the Diverse Executives Leading in Public Health (DELPH) program.
Qualified public health professionals must be currently employed at a local, island/territory, tribal, or state public health department. Federal employees are not eligible to participate in the DELPH program.
Program participants will be selected from experienced public health professionals who self-identify from an underrepresented group, including people of color, people living with disabilities, women, and LGBTQ+ individuals.
This is a 10-month program with three in-person events. A calendar of events for all virtual and in-person sessions with dates and locations will be shared during the program orientation. Participation in these events is a requirement for participation in the program.
The program will continue to monitor and adhere to travel guidance from CDC regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

What is expected of the DELPH scholars?
Participation in the DELPH program is a commitment of a minimal of 20 hours monthly over the 10-month period.
- This includes monthly asynchronous self-study activities, participating in monthly virtual sessions and traveling to up to three in-person meetings during the program.
Scholars will be expected to attend and be fully engage in DELPH programming and events.
- Completing self-study modules and participating in cohort discussions.
- Actively engaging with an assigned mentor and executive coach.
- Actively engaging as a volunteer through association leadership opportunities.
- Serving as an ambassador to recruit and retain diverse leadership candidates for their agency.
